Vintage Pleasure Boutique returns to the classic Hotsound Records catalogue with Primero “Oh Que Calor”, another unmistakable production from Michiel van der Kuy. Originally released at the end of the 1980s, “Oh Que Calor” carries all the elements that made the Hotsound sound so distinctive: driving Linn Drum rhythms, bright synth lines, cosmic melodies and that unique blend of Italo Disco, electro and vocal spacesynth. For this new vinyl edition, the original Extended, Radio and Instrumental versions have been carefully remastered, preserving the character and atmosphere of the original release. The package is completed by three brand-new remixes from A.P. Mono, Spacehawk and Disco Computer. Each producer takes the track in a slightly different direction, while keeping Van der Kuy’s original DNA firmly at the centre. The result connects the classic Hotsound era with today’s DJ and collector scene, familiar enough for long-time fans, but with enough new material to make the release something more than a straight reissue. And “Oh Que Calor” still has that instant escapist quality: hot nights, neon lights, open-air dancefloors and a late-’80s Spanish seaside atmosphere somewhere between Italo Disco and spacesynth. For fans of Laserdance, Koto, Cyber People, Proxyon and Sisley Ferre. Three original versions. Three new remixes. One unmistakable Hotsound DNA.
